The Himba Experience

The Himba tribe, known as the last true nomads of Namibia, holds a fascinating and distinctive culture. Despite facing challenges such as severe droughts, conflicts, and historical oppression, the Himba population, estimated between 30,000 to 50,000, has managed to preserve their way of life.Renowned for their unique beauty enhanced by intricate hairstyles and traditional adornments, Himba women are a significant part of their culture. Cattle are a symbol of wealth in the Himba community, with the number of cattle reflecting one's prosperity, as seen by the horns placed on the individual's grave. While cattle represent wealth, sheep and goats are primarily raised for sustenance, with livestock only sold on rare occasions for monetary purposes.During our visit, we will immerse ourselves in the history, customs, and daily routines of the Himba tribe for a few hours, gaining valuable insights into their way of life.
